Rally ready teams that have designated positions in their roster and apply proficient team strategies. Equal to Gr. 8 volleyball play. Medium to fast pace matches. A place for BB+ teams to get organized matches.
Restriction: No Beginners or A+ players & above.
Confident Rally Ready and System Ready Players: Adults who are confident and consistent with their foundational skills in 6-on-6 game play. BB+ players can maintain rallies at an intermediate pace (faster servers and hits), understanding system play, and contribute within specific roles (e.g., setter, middle, libero, hitter). This is often the level where team systems like 5-1 or 6-2 are used more intentionally.
At this level: Players can demonstrate off-ball movement, can read and recover in broken rallies, and execute basic team offense/defense strategies. They can consistently attack the ball over the net in controlled settings. Rallies are consistent and include transitions, resets, and role-specific communication and movements.
Development: Responsive movements to team play, strengthening of all fundamentals in faster pace + blocking and digging, roles and responsibilities during rallies. Clinics include Intermediate or Position-Specific Clinics.
Dates: September 13, 20, 27. October 4, 18, 25. November 1, 8, 15 (9 Sessions)
Location: Byrne Creek Community School, Burnaby
Format: 12 Teams Round Robin Matches, Finale Tournament, No Playoffs
Rebalance: Mango BB & Coconut BB+ will rebalance during the season
**Teams must be available for rebalancing and maybe moved between divisions & locations (Byrne Creek & Burnaby Mountain) during the season based on their statistical performance**
Note: Any Mango applicants are permitted to register also for Oolong Flavour.
IMPORTANT: If an Oolong Team is waitlisted, they may be allowed to play in the Mango Flavour if there are available slots.
Regular Season Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm (2 hours)
Tournament Day: Nov 15 – 6 Team Round Robin
