1. Host Team - 6 Volunteers - Taro Flavour

Boba League is looking for a Taro Flavour host team of 6 volunteers to be a part of the league operations team and reports to the Director of Operations. The host team will comprise of five “Facility Attendants” led by one “League Supervisor”. The host team’s primary role is to provide weekly supervision and support for Boba League’s Taro Flavour beginner casual division. The secondary role of the “Host Team” is to connect and build rapport with the other captains assigned to the Taro Flavour division, and promote an environment that is welcoming and friendly.

The 6 volunteers need to have a heart for newcomers and beginner players, and be excited about facilitating a division. The host team is to have a strong passion for the mission, vision and values of FTLO Volleyball, and understand that healthy relationships and connections can generate hope to our FTLO family members that need it.

The host team will be given a team registration discount and 1 of the 8 team slots for the season. Because Taro Flavour has 2 blocks of matches, the host team is expected to facilitate the block they are playing in and as well designate 2 volunteers each Sunday to oversee the additional block that the host team is not playing in. The Captain of the Host Team will be designated the “Taro Flavour League Supervisor” and will be given responsibility to manage the whole gym site and will report to the Director of Operations.

Location: Fraser River Middle School

Volunteer Times: Sundays – 3:00pm to 7:00pm, and staff meetings on weekday evenings when required

Start Date: April 6th

End Date: June 22nd with the possibility of an extension

Requirements: Volunteers must be FTLO members, FTLO B/BB Skill Level.

2. LEAGUE SUPERVISOR - JASMINE CLASSIC FLAVOUR​

The Jasmine Classic League Supervisor is a part of the league operations team and reports to the Director of Operations. The LSPs’ primary role is to provide supervision and support for Boba League’s Jasmine Classic Flavour (division), and oversee the nightly operations at Burnaby Mountain Secondary for the 10 weeks of the Spring 2025 season. The LSP and the team that the individual is on will host the Jasmine Classic as needed by the league. A game director will be appoint by the LSP from within the person’s team. The secondary role of the LSP is to connect and build rapport with the 5 other captains assigned to their division, and promote a culture that drives the mission, vision and values of the league.

The League Supervisor needs to have organizational & leadership skills, have a big heart for people, and is excited about facilitating an inclusive and welcoming environment. The LSP is to have a strong passion for the mission, vision and values of FTLO Volleyball, and understand that healthy relationships and connections can generate hope to our FTLO family members that need it.

Location: Burnaby Mountain Secondary

Volunteer Times: Sundays – 3:00pm to 5:00pm & staff meetings on weekday evenings when required

Start Date: April 6th

End Date: June 22nd with the possibility of an extension

Requirements: Be a player in the Sunday Jasmine Flavour

3. LEAGUE SUPERVISOR - Matcha CLASSIC FLAVOUR

The Matcha Classic League Supervisor is a part of the league operations team and reports to the Director of Operations. The LSPs’ primary role is to provide supervision and support for Boba League’s Matcha Classic Flavour (division), and oversee the nightly operations at Byrne Creek Community School for the 10 weeks of the Spring 2025 season. 4. STAFF REPRESENTATIVE

The Staff Representative is a part of the Staff Resource Department and reports directly to the League Director of Boba League. The primary role of the Staff Representative is to ensure the care, appreciation, and satisfaction of our volunteers. This individual will plan and organize volunteer appreciation events, research and recommend gifts, ensure that volunteers receive the training and support they need, and create regular volunteer satisfaction and feedback reports for the leadership team. Additionally, the Volunteer Representative will help identify and recommend potential new volunteers for recruitment.

The Volunteer Representative needs to have excellent organizational skills, a passion for volunteerism, and the ability to build strong relationships. They will play a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all Boba League volunteers.

REQUIREMENT: Must be a current Boba volunteer and must have one supporting nomination.

Location: Volunteer from home and various locations.

Volunteer Times: Volunteer at own pace and attend meetings when required.

Start Date: March 16th

End Date: Indefinitely

Status: Position Open – Accepting Applications

5. Assistant Treasurer

The Assistant Treasurer is part of the league administrative team and reports to the League Treasurer. The ATR’s primary role is to work with the admin team in tracking and keeping record of league small service payments (Merchandise sales, Event ticket sales, Fundraiser raffle sales), and assisting the League Treasurer in ensuring allocated funds are used appropriately.

The Assistant Treasurer must have strong organizational & record keeping experience, be detailed oriented, and be experienced in using google sheets and the google drive suite. The ATR is to have a strong passion for the mission, vision and values of FTLO Volleyball and be passionate about a financially sustainable and charitable Boba League.

Location: Volunteer from home.

Volunteer Times: Volunteer at own pace and attend meetings when required.

Start Date: March 16th, 2025

End Date: Indefinitely

6. Social Media Assistants

The Social Media Assistants are part of the communications team and report to the Communication Coordinator. The SMAs’ primary role is to work with the Communication team in collecting material (pictures and videos) to create stock footage, YouTube and Instagram posts. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative people that enjoy online content creation. The SMAs are to have a strong passion for the mission, vision and values of FTLO Volleyball and be passionate about storytelling and promoting community values to the masses.

Location: Boba League Volleyball facilities.

Volunteer Times: Casually on Sundays during programming

Start Date: Immediately after the volunteer application has been processed and accepted.

End Date: Indefinitely

7. Social EVents Committee Members

HEY YOU! YES YOU!   Do you want to make Boba League an even more exciting and fun community? If yes, we want you!

Boba is looking for a committee of volunteers that would like to be a part of the planning and executing process for FTLO/Boba events.

As we continue to strive for a deeper and more welcoming community, we want to plan social and charity events to enrich the community experience at Boba League. We recognize that running a success event can not be done by one person. It takes a team of passionate people that care about the community to make that possible.

The Social Events Committee will be chaired by the Social Events Coordinator. 

Location: Volunteer from home, in public areas as needed. Various meeting locations.
Volunteer Times: Casual Commitment. Committee will together agreed on frequency of meetings and delegation of tasks as required.
