Join us for a full day of exciting volleyball while giving back to the community! The FTLO Charity Tournament brings together 18 teams for a mix of friendly yet competitive play, all in support of Backpack Buddies, a local charity dedicated to fighting child hunger. We also got $750 in Sponsored Raffle Prizes to give out to some lucky people on tournament day!

🕢Time: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
🏐 Skill: FTLO BB/BB+
Team Composition: 6 players is a complete team (minimum 2 of each gender on the court at all times)
Team Registration Fees: $280 per team (GST included)
**Up to 7 players per team – $15 fee for any additional players after 7th player**
Minimum Requirements: 70% of the Team must hold FTLO/Boba membership. Non-members are permitted.
What is FTLO Membership?
To become a member, you must have been a registered participant who completed a full season of FTLO clinic or Boba League.
- Substitute players on a Boba Team are not eligible for membership. Players must be registered at the start of the season to be eligible
- Participants only played in FTLO Open League or Summer Grass Tournament are not eligible for priority registration and will not have received membership status
- Each Boba League player will possess a Boba Pin as proof of membership
Schedule
- 8:30 AM: Registration Check-In
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Seeding Games
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
- 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Double-Elimination Playoffs
- 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM Raffles, cleanup and goodbyes!

Skill Level and Expectation
This tournament is designed for Lower Intermediate (FTLO BB/BB+) level players.
- Rally Ready players with consistent passing, setting, and hitting at a recreational pace.
- Learning to play in 5-1 or 6-2 team systems in a league setting
Skill Level Considerations
⚠️ Teams are expected to be Lower Intermediate (BB/BB+) overall
⚠️ Any Intermediate A level players must adjust their playstyle, respect the BB/BB+ level, and take on a support role (e.g., setter)

Fundraiser Raffle Prizes Info:
We will be selling raffle tickets at the front lobby of the tournament gym throughout the event. Participants can buy as many tickets as they like. Tickets can be purchased with cash or e-transfer (no change provided). If a participant loses their ticket, it cannot be replaced.
Raffle draws will happen at 5:00 pm and ticket numbers will be announced. Ticket holders must be present at the time of the draw to win. If the ticket holder is not there when the number is announced, a new ticket number will be drawn.

Who is Backpack Buddies?
In BC, thousands of families struggle to put food on the table every day and hunger can set a child back for life. Backpack Buddies is tackling childhood hunger in BC by putting food directly into the hands of those children who need it most.
Many children rely heavily on school meal programs but over the weekend may not eat at all until school starts again on Monday. This is ‘the weekend hunger gap.’ Backpack Buddies addresses this crisis by filling backpacks every Friday for students in need with meals and snacks to last the weekend. For a cost of only $25, Backpack Buddies sends a child home with a bag full of kid approved meals to last the weekend and beyond.
Backpack Buddies is delivered across BC. From Alert Bay to Fernie and Victoria to Fort St. John, we serve over 6,100 children in 71 communities through 350 schools and community partners, working to end childhood food insecurity through our weekend meal program. We will continue to expand to more communities and more children BC wide, keeping our promise to be there for them as long as they need
us.
